Motorola is doing something strange. It’s sending certain members of the technology press a mysterious box with an “exciting” item inside and each should be arriving tomorrow (February 25).

We’re all set to get one on the mid-week “hump day” and we’re hoping to share more details on its contents tomorrow.

In the meantime, the rumours of of a Motorola Moto E 4G edition have been reinvigorated and we think the two events may be connected.

An LTE packed version of the Moto E has been rumoured for quite some time but it has once again leaked with Verizon branding all over the back.

Do we have a good one for you today – the Motorola Droid Turbo goes up against the new Xiaomi Mi Note Pro.  At first glance, you may think the Mi Note Pro will grab this win in the looks department…the full metal frame that wraps around a glass display and glass back.  However, the Droid Turbo is built like a tank – it has that great Motorola toughness about it, and still uses plastic reinforced with Kevlar and a new option this year gives us a model with Ballistic Nylon on the back, which adds a nice texture and grip to the device.  Both are solid, well-built and ‘pretty’ in their own way – the Mi Note Pro would win for elegance, but the Droid Turbo has a nice, manly look to it…women need not apply (J/K, of course).

These two devices appear to have very little in common with each other.  They both make phone calls and they can both take pictures.  They are similar in dimensions, with the smaller displayed Droid Turbo coming in a little smaller, but weighing slightly more – probably because of the huge 3900mAh battery.  They both have the usual Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microUSB port for charging and data transfer.  They also share the Quick Charge option – thanks to their Qualcomm heritage.
