Motorola has officially announced a Keylink accessory, which will enable owners to keep track of their keys and, perhaps more importantly, their smartphones.

The $ 24.99 (about £16) Bluetooth dongle can be attached to the user’s keys and prompted to play an alert using the accompanying Motorola Connect mobile app.

The aim is to spare people those minutes spent frantically turning furniture upside down before remembering the keys were in their jacket pocket all along.

Just like the HTC Fetch, the Keylink works the other way too, allowing owners to locate their smartphones from up to 100 feet away, just by pushing a button on the dongle.
