Motorola Droid RAZR and Samsung Galaxy Nexus are two prominent Android phones. Both devices hit stores late last year to attract the masses who were going crazy by year end sales. These handsets are still making news with huge penetration into the smartphone market. The Droid RAZR, which merges Motorola’s Droid and RAZR brands, is an advanced smartphone with an attractive, lightweight and slim body. The Galaxy Nexus, in other words, the third Google Nexus, is noted as the first device to run on the latest version of Google’s mobile OS, the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Form factor
The Droid RAZR is one of the slimmest smartphones in the world with a density of just 0.28 inches. The device features a width of 2.71-inch and height of 5.15-inch. It weighs just at 4.48 oz. The Galaxy Nexus, meanwhile, measures at 2.67 x 5.33 x 0.37 inches and weight of just 5.1 oz.

Galaxy Nexus sports a 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The screen supports 16.7 million colors. The Droid RAZR is up with a slightly smaller 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display with 16M colors and 540 x 960 pixels at 256 ppi.

If we were to apply the technology in smartphones, that ecosystem is, of course, very complex, with some very large players there. It’s an industry that’s very different and driven based on operational excellence. For us to compete in there, we’d have to be a very different kind of company. So if we were to enter that space, it would definitely be through a partnership and a codevelopment of the technology, and ultimately some kind of licensing with the appropriate partner.Charles ChiLytro
