Motorola X Phone Rumored to be a ‘Real Breakthrough’

Over a week ago we reported some rumors regarding the Motorola X Phone, a device that will allegedly have specs and features to top all the existing and upcoming smartphones, which sounds just too good to be true for most of the gadget enthusiasts.

Partly due to its having the largest 4G LTE network in the United States, Verizon has become arguably the first choice for American customers when it comes to choosing a wireless carrier.  It also is known for offering a wide variety of high-end devices, with the HTC Droid DNA and Samsung Galaxy Note 2 being the two most recent examples.  For 2013, three more handsets may be joining the Verizon family – the purported Motorola X Phone, the Nokia Lumia 920 Laser and the next-gen flagship Samsung Galaxy S4.

Even at this point, it’s hard to tell whether the Motorola X Phone is fact or fiction.  But if it does exist, we could be seeing the phone make its public debut at the 2013 Google I/O conference.  Chances are it does, because Google had unwittingly leaked out this possible superphone by advertising a job opening for a manager for the “X” project.  The X Phone may do away with Motorola and Verizon’s usual Droid joint branding, but it’s not expected to be a Nexus phone either, despite rumors suggesting it will be the first to ship with Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie.
